Fashion is Evolution recently did a series of posts touring her home. I was inspired, and wanted to show y'all my little desk area, from which I blog, cause I'm proud of it... and it's my blog, I can do what I want.

Complete with glass of wine... cause I like to drink whilst blogging.

The desk is a family piece, handed down from my Mommy. It's vintage birdseye maple from the 1920's (or so I'm told). The laptop was a hand-me-down from the BF. You do not want to see what I had previously. It was a brick. The monitor is also from the BF. (I benefit from his hatred of PCs.) You will notice the red stapler, as Office Space is one of my favorite movies. The chair is a Craigslist purchase - $20 - it's mid-century. Speaking of mid-century, the radio is from an estate sale - also $20. It was half-off the second day, because at that point they just don't want to have anything left. It still works! The filing cabinet (also mid-century) is another CL purchase. A pricier piece at $45, but it was currently the only piece I could find that fit the space and my aesthetics. Finally, the art on the left is a DIY, seen here, and the other two were gifts. They are from Etsy from a shop called When Pigs Fly.

What do you think? Would you be interested in seeing more of my home?

  1. Hey Girl....yep, that desk is one I gave your Mom. It is indeed early 20th century and was part of a set that my Great Aunt had in a maid's room in her home in Kankakee, Illinois. I got the entire set at age 13 (1959) when she died and passed it to your Mom. Not sure where the rest of it is ? Glad to see it in use !

    1. I'm not sure where the bed is, but the matching dresser is on loan to a friend of mine. She is putting it to good use!

    1. Yay! I like hearing of the reasons I am liked. :) I used to have the stapler at the office. You bet someone took it just so I would walk around going "I believe you have my stapler..." BTW, it really doesn't jam up like the Bostitch.

    1. The dress & shirt thing is a new obsession of mine.

Re: chair - Thanks! I can't believe I only paid $20 for it! It's real vintage, NOT a replica.

  5. OMG LOVE THE BOOTS! And absolutely want to snoop around the rest of your abode! I took a slew of photos once to "tour" my home on my blog , but they all turned out so dark and useless. A photographer - I am not.

    1. These boots would be my ultimate favorites, if they were slightly more comfortable... they're super cute, but pretty unbearable. (Doesn't it always work out that way?)

I keep meaning to take more pics of my apartment, but I have to get it clean first! I have been doing so many other things lately, and cleaning my apartment is not included in those things. Ick, glad I live alone.
